Lizzie is overcoming adversity and following her dreams

Big thinking is proud to present a powerful short film featuring Lizzie who is receiving support through Action Towards Inclusion with an organisation that support lone parents called Aspire-igen. In this candid and inspiring short story Lizzie talks about her traumatic journey of recovery from domestic violence and how she is gaining 1-2-1 support from a key worker through Aspire-igen – accessing support an interventions through organisations like Kyra through the Action Towards Inclusion programme. The film captures how these support mechanisms have helped Lizzie address and overcome barriers in her life with housing, benefits and training but also helped her to grow in confidence, receive emotional support and gain the skills she meeds to move closer to her aspirations. Lizzie has since spoken at conferences and events inspiring people with her story of hope over adversity.
